Adirondack Flagpoles   Thank you for visiting the Adirondack Flagpole site.   As a hand-crafted flagpole manufacturing company is not a very common enterprise, I would like to tell you more about myself,   and this company.

In the mid-90's I sold my software development company in Texas and "came back home" to the Adirondacks where I grew up.  Seeking to find the other extreme from the high-tech software environment I had been associated with, I started a small logging company and became a Timber Broker, selling timber to the large sawmills in New England and Canada. This eventually led to my interest in a small, specialized manufacturing business, and after a year of research I felt that producing flagpoles from our native Adirondack species would be an interesting and rewarding venture.  I found that almost all hand-crafted flagpoles available in the U.S. were being produced form laminated Doug Fir, so there was a definite possibility of interest in Yellow Pine and Red Oak flag poles.

After consulting with ship mast experts and professional cabinetry carpenters I developed the patterns and methods for producing our first prototype poles. Our shop was then set up in a beautiful mountaintop location overlooking Lake Champlain, and all the equipment was installed to begin production. Our initial success was encouraging, and within 60 days we were manufacturing what I believe to be the finest flagpoles in the United States.

After experimenting with numerous species we chose Southern Yellow Pine for our softwood poles, and Northern Red Oak for our high end hardwood poles, which are the only Oak flagpoles of this size being produced today.    With our Yellow Pine poles offering a well-priced durable product and the Red Oak models providing the highest quality hardwood flagpole available, our wide range of heights and finishes, and the high quality hardware and mounting base which are included, Adirondack Flagpoles are certainly poised to become the standard for all hand-crafted wooden flagpoles produced in the U.S.

This page will be updated over time to include an ongoing log of our operations and new information about the Adirondack Flagpole Company.
